kindred

i just adore this new kindred site that i have discovered. it is a great Australian based natural parenting magazine and site that contains some very informative articles from international sources. i cannot seem educate myself enough about the different methods of parenting and there are so many useful pieces on the website.

there really is an article about anything for both parents with some difficult topics as well. and there is a new website to come soon.

real house hunting

we are five days into our lives today and accomplished a fair bit already. this morning we put an offer in on a house that we both love and obviously very much hope to get. so in anticipation of being able to decorate our new home i am going through the pile of fabulous australia design magazines real living and inside out that m got for me including a heap of back issues! i think most of the excitement is because i have no idea where to go to get the things that i want and it somewhat relieving to have some help from these magazines.

now i just have to patiently wait to hear back from the real estate agent about the result of the offer. the process is quite different here so that doesnt make this any easier. hopefully i will have good news by the end of the day.

so sew

i have had a sewing machine for many years and i am limited to making things in square or rectangles. i would really like to branch out into other shapes as well but have yet to find the patience to start a more complicated item such as clothing.

there are so many japanese pattern books for childrens clothes that look simple but who knows. this is definitely on my (long) list of things to do.

notebook mag

M pointed me towards another new magazine and website that is full of great inspiration.

just look at the beautiful homes they feature. but it doesnt stop there, other articles include how to make your own (eco-friendly) household cleaners and many other diys. i might have to subscribe to this Aussie mag too.

shop {herbivore}

i have purchased clothing and accessories from herbivore for years now and even for little O. my favorite tee of theirs that is no longer in store had the tag line we put the FU in tofu. their clothes make a statement!

i started out reading a great mag that they used to put out. they had so much great content but decided to put the focus on other things so it is no longer in production.

but they still have some back issues for sale. the travel issue is my all time favorite and such a great resource. they also carry a range of vegan, vegetarian, raw food and animal rights books.

papier mache mag

another fabulous online Australian mag papier mache. described as 'a very cute childrens magazine' by the creators and i would have to agree.

the images are so dreamy and content so sweet. this is just their first issue cant wait to see what comes from the next. the recipe for preserving children is my absolute favorite.

LMNOP mag

i dont even know where to start because i am so excited about this online mag that was brought to my attention by the lovely Gaelana at bygollybygosh and the post about her fav online mags.
Laugh, Make, Nurture, Organize, Play is a free quarterly magazine based out of Australia. they feature articles and shops from Oz, Canada, the US and more. the content is great and has already pointed me towards some great online childrens shops.

and they have a blog, that just tops it off for me.

come home mag

i am very inspired by japanese home and craft magazines this particular the magazine come home! is filled with some beautiful photographs that of course combine rustic with japanese simplicity.

I'd love to get my hands on this issue because there are some great rooms with vintage furniture and interesting combinations of new and old.

real living mag {may}

as much as i will miss domino i now have a new magazine to look forward to (thanks to holly at decor8) and they will be waiting for me when i arrive in oz. M was wonderful enough to get me a subscription starting now so that i will have a bit of a collection by the time i am there.

i frequently peek at the editors blog and there are actual pages from the mag for those who cannot get a copy. these pages are from the may makeover issue and are so pretty. since i am going to have a whole house to decorate i am so happy that will have some local inspiration.
